It has been
nearly 2 years since Jennifer Lopez played any part in a movie. It was a movie that didn’t do much in the
Indian circuit but definitely plays a lot on TV. I am talking about the Jason Statham starrer
called Parker. So fans of JLo would be
quite excited to see her back on screen.
Non Fans of JLo
as well (a breed that may not exist because she is JLo man!!! Come on!!!) will
probably be choking the torrent lines over the next few days to get the uncut
and uncensored version of The Boy Next Door.
Sadly for them the movie is being released in India with about 4 minutes
of cuts. Awwww damn!!!
The only thing
that one would probably give points for in this otherwise very boring
psycho-suspense thriller would have been the JLo show. Not that everything is heavily edited out but
I am quite certain that a lot was. So
get in line quickly guys because I am sure you want to get a piece of this one.
Now, I may have
sounded sleazy and cheap before this but honestly that’s the harsh truth about
The Boy Next Door. Firstly, as the
titles roll in, one gets the feeling that it will be horror movie of
sorts. But a minute or two later you
would probably think it is a romance thriller at best only for it to morph into
a badly made psycho thriller.
Claire Peterson
(Jennifer Lopez) is going through a separation from her husband. Hubby dear – Garrett Peterson (John Corbett)
was banging his secretary over business trips to San Francisco. The Petersons
have a son Kevin (Ian Nelson). Kevin
studies in the same school that Claire teaches The Classics (English
Literature).
Things start
getting a tad shady when Noah Sandborn (Ryan Guzman) moves in next door to help
his grand uncle. Noah has lost his
parents recently and his grand uncle needs help because he is due to get a
liver transplant. Noah’s lust for the
hot school teacher is apparent.
In a moment of
weakness, the hot school teacher finds herself in the sack with the young
ripped boy next door. The trouble starts
only when she realizes her mistake and wants to back off but it is a tad too
late for that. The Boy Next Door may
seem very nice and helpful but he doesn’t like to take no for an answer.
TBND is a total
masala movie made in Bollywood style surprisingly by a director (Rob Cohen) who
usually makes pretty watchable movies.
The narration is very boring, the acting very average and the story
makes you yawn very quickly. So, in a
nutshell, if you would like to watch an uncensored JLo, download the movie. 4 on 10.
