Creature 3D (Hindi)

Have you heard the story about King Bruce and the spider? The one in which King Bruce is thrown out of his kingdom and hides in a cave.  He sees a spider that keeps falling off while building a web.  King Bruce takes inspiration from that incident.  Comes back and wins his kingdom.  The story of never giving up that has inspired a million lives.

What they didn’t tell you was the spider’s name.  I can say, with a whole lot of conviction, that the spider was called Vikram Bhatt.  I am serious.  There is a whole amount of thought that has been put into this hypothesis.  I have seen every Vikram Bhatt movie over the past 7 years to arrive at this statement.

That spider from the King Bruce story may have fallen off a zillion times before building its web.  Much like Vikram Bhatt has continuously fallen over the past 21 years of attempting to make a half decent movie.  But Vikramji hasn’t learnt to ever give up.  Never ever give up.  Someday.  Maybe someday soon, I will make something that can actually be called a movie!!!

More power to you Vikram Bhatt!!! But let me make a reference to a dialogue from this – your 28th attempt at making a movie – “They are vultures.  But I am not a dead body yet”!!!!!  This is what Ahaana (Bipasha Basu) says when almost all is lost in her fight against the Bramha Rakshash (Brahmin Monster).

Unfortunately for Ahaana, she couldn’t look beyond the screen into the audience.  The vultures were definitely circling waiting for the last stab into the already mind numbed audience.  An audience that had killed itself with laughter – thankfully – in reaction to a story that surpasses all previous benchmarks that Vikramji had set for himself.

Creature 3D (not that the 3D makes any difference whatsoever) is about the Brahma Rakshash referred to a few lines before.  Thanks to a highway (which has never been shown in the entire movie), the BR’s sacred abode i.e. a Peepal Tree is chopped down.

Now, homeless, the BR has decided to make a meal (literally) out of the hapless villagers and of course the inhabitants of the Glendale Forest Resort owned by Ahaana.  The local police express no interest in solving the series of deaths.  They attribute it to a maneater leopard (do they exist in Himachal).  Of course, the onus now falls on our heroine and her new found love interest Kunal (Imran Abbas).

Like all his previous attempts, Creature is hilarious.  It is great fun to watch the meek attempts at horror.  Go with a bunch of friends and you will probably have an awesome time.  Surely, that was the intent when Vikramji made this movie and of course his previous attempts as well.  How else can one explain more money being put into his movies? 2 on 10 for the humour.
