Warning 3D

The only person who could possibly answer a basic question is Gurmmeet Singh, the director of the movie.  Why was the movie called Warning? Who warned whom? Was someone supposed to warn someone else? Was I supposed to hear some sort of warning?  There was some red board with the word on it somewhere during the movie.  But other than that why not call it what it was – A SHIPWRECK!!!

Thankfully, the movie wasn’t as much of a Shipwreck as I expected to be.  That being said, I had prepared for a 2 on 10 but got a 5 on 10 instead.  There were good parts about Warning.  To begin with, the 3D was of the best quality I have seen in India to date.  So when the protagonists splash water in one of the unnecessary songs, you feel like the water is dripping down your 3D glasses.

Also, there was quite a bit of consistency in the script.  The things which happened were more often than not well defined and with a purpose.  The story wasn’t too bad either.  A bunch of twenty something school friends have a reunion.  One of them is in Fiji and invites them.  They are having a good time till they realize there is no way back on to the boat. One of them raised the ladder back up before getting into the water.

Sounds silly right? I thought as much.  But the sequence of events is very much possible.  What I found very difficult to believe however was that 7 of them put together could not find a way to get back onto the boat. Some of the options tried out were quite sensible and should not have been given up on.  The others were rank stupid but when you are in the water for that long, it can anticipate hallucinations and stupidity.

Even the facts have been looked at much more than I would have normally expected.  Like how to save yourself from a shark attack.  Tips were received from http://news.discovery.com/adventure/survival/8-tips-for-surviving-a-shark-attack.htm.  The steps taken by the group are identical to the link provided.

However, Warning falls flat in terms of acting and overall execution.  None of the actors frankly come up to the mark.  The cast is young and of course could improve over time.  One cannot say the same of Manjari Phadnis though because she has been around for a while and hasn’t made it into the big league yet.  I guess she is past her prime. The best member of the cast was Yeti the Dog who not only acts well but also survives.

Warning also provides a skin fest for both genders and if that excites you then you can add a point to my rating.  The music is not the most exciting either and more often than not, unnecessary.  I have already given my rating earlier in this review and that will not change.  Watch it if you have nothing better to do.

    1. better than PPNH because of the concept and some decent execution. Not in terms of acting etc. The overall score is more of an indicator and not an absolute truth. For e.g. the music in PPNH was better

I could review MNK but honestly, i felt it was not too good a movie. the music was superb though.
